What to Expect on Your First Visit

What to Expect on Your First Visit

Step 1 | Consultation

We strive to make your first visit to our office an efficient and comfortable experience. Our receptionist, Diane will welcome you and have you complete our required forms. These forms will provide us with important information about you and your health conditions. Dr. Yeates will then spend time with you, asking specific questions about your condition to determine if a chiropractic assessment is appropriate in your case.

If Dr. Yeates determines that your case can benefit from chiropractic care a comprehensive examination will be recommended. If not, Dr. Yeates will see that your are referred to the most appropriate Health Care Professional to address your condition.

Step 2 | Examination

After discussing your history and presenting health condition, the doctor will perform a thorough Chiropractic and Spinal Health assessment. This will include testing your ability to turn and bend,  computerized muscle and nerve scans, a detailed postural assessment, neurological, orthopedic, and physical testing.

This important information will allow the doctor to diagnose your condition and determine how best to treat it. If needed the doctor may recommend x-rays or refer you for more diagnostic testing.

Step 3 | X-ray

If required, you will be referred to the Algonquin X-ray and Ultrasound Clinic. The cost of the x-rays are covered by the provincial health plan. X-rays provide important information and will give the doctor a more thorough understanding of your condition.

Step 4 | Report of Findings

After all the information including exams, forms, and x-rays (if needed) are complete Diane will schedule you report of findings.  At your Report, Dr. Yeates will explain in detail the results of your assessment and will discuss options for care.  With your consent, you will begin care with an adjustment on this visit.
